Top 10 Engineering Colleges of West Bengal, India
Each year a huge number of students sit for the Joint Entrance Exams and they fight it out with their peers to get a seat at the prestigious engineering colleges of West Bengal. These days getting a rank is no longer a problem as there are a number of private institutes that offer engineering degrees to the not so meritorious students.  Some of the topmost ranking students get a chance to study in the best engineering college of West Bengal viz. Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Jadavpur University.
Each and every student preparing for the Joint Entrance exam wants to get admission into one of the top ten engineering colleges of West Bengal. The list of top ten engineering colleges in West Bengal is very important as these colleges provide high quality education as well as good campus placements to the students studying in them.  The factors that decide the place of the colleges in the top ten list are;
  1. Faculty

  4. Campus placements
  5. Ranking by other colleges
  6. Ranking by the leading coaching centers
On the basis of the above mentioned criteria Jadavpur University is by far the best engineering college in West Bengal. JU has maintained its position among its peers. Every year, only the top 300 rank holders get seats in the different engineering departments of JU. Another big contender and close second to JU is Bengal Engineering Sciences University located in Shibpur. Although there is a lot of politics on campus, but still Besu has kept its position intact as the second best engineering college of West Bengal.

Kalyani and Jalpaiguri Engineering colleges boast of great amount of students each year. Jalpaiguri beats Kalyani in terms of placement, infrastructure and faculty, so these two colleges are ranked fourth and fifth respectively.
One of the most important factors that drive the best students to the government engineering colleges has to be the tuition fees charged by them. The fees structure of JU is a fraction of what is charged by any other private college in the state.
